In selecting bone region, choose "Flat Bone" if the lesion is in a flat bone like: skull, spine, pelvis, scapula, sternum, face and mandible, tarsal and carpal bones. For long bones, Diaphysis refers to the cylindrical portion, and Metaphysis to the part between the point where the diaphysis  widens and the growth plate. Epiphysis refers to the part of the long bone between the growth plate and the articular surface. A lesion which extends to the level of articular surface, like a Giant cell tumor, qualifies for the selection  "Lesion Is Close To Articular Surface " in addition to   the "Epiphysial" or "Epiphysiometaphysial" designation.
