"Mottled Matrix" refers to a permeated or moth eaten   pattern  of bone destruction  as  may  be seen in Ewing's Sarcoma.  There are tiny little holes fading  imperceptibly  into intact bone.  Although the   cortex is eroded, it retain its structural dimensions.
