"Cortical Erosion" refers to destruction of cortex by a lytic or sclerotic process. Thinning of he cortex by an intraosseous process does not indicate cortical erosion but suggests "Endosteal Scalloping". Thinning of the cortex by an external process however justifies a positive cortical erosion response.
